First Post!

Hi my name is Jessica Rosace. I teach Kindergarten at St. Rocco School in Johnston, RI. I have been a teacher for 8 years and graduated from URI in 2010 with a bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I have also been working as a seller on a website called Teachers Pay Teachers. I create and sell unit plans and other teaching materials. The extra income from this site has allowed me to pursue my masters degree!

I am currently in my first year as a grad student at RIC studying reading. This is the third class I have taken so far and I am looking forward to the interesting topics we will discuss!

  1. Hi Jessica,
I also liked the way the documentary compared people living in different parts of the city. They seemed to be accurate representations of those at each rung on the social ladder. The woman in the poorest strata represented so many whose lives seemed to have slipped through the cracks. For her and her family it was a case of poor health that caused their inability to flourish; for Corey, one rung up, it was a case of a lost job! Life can turn on a dime, and it would be so simple for the people at the top to take a pay cut or pay higher taxes so that the poor can benefit. Imagine, four weeks paid vacation for the average worker - people would be happier - everyone would benefit!
